Gianluigi has more than twenty years of experience in Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Debt Restructuring, Structured Finance and Financial Market Regulation. He is also an expert in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and regulation of pharmaceuticals and phytopharmaceuticals.
Gianluigi has advised clients in the financial and industrial sectors in a number of significant transactions, including BBVA in its tender offer for BNL shares, the arrangers BNP Paribas and CA-CIB in several securitization transactions and, among them, major securitizations of receivables arising from vehicle fleet rentals. Gianluigi has advised Italian and foreign investment funds in real estate and private equity transactions in companies in the ICT, shipbuilding and major works sectors, industrial buyers in acquisitions in the logistics, components and drug manufacturing sectors. He also provided regulatory legal advice in the structuring of financing and financial products, including supply chain finance and reverse factoring products, for several players about to enter or expand their presence in the Italian and EU markets.
After graduating in law with honors in 1999 from the University of Perugia, he served as Subject Matter Expert in Private Law at the Chair of Institutions of Private Law. Subsequently, he lectured on structured finance, share purchase agreements and unregulated markets as part of the Master’s Degree in “Business Law” at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
He frequently participates as a speaker in international seminars on banking law and capital markets. He has published numerous articles in specialized journals and contributions in monographs on capital markets and banking regulation.
Gianluigi has been a member of the Bar since 2002 and is qualified to practice before the Supreme Court of Cassation and the High Courts since 2014.
He is also a member of the Board of Arbitrators of ASSONEBB (National Encyclopedia of Banking and Stock Exchange Association).
