Massimiliano has more than twenty years of experience in the fields of Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Information Technology.
In his areas of expertise, Massimiliano assists domestic and foreign companies and industrial groups in adapting business processes to national and EU regulations as well as in protecting and enhancing data and intangible assets, including in contractual relations with business partners.
He has represented several clients in proceedings before the Italian Data Protection Authority and before judicial authorities.
Massimiliano has significant experience – also in cross-border projects – ranging from e-commerce to data economy, from connected devices to telemedicine, from retail to fashion.
After graduating in law from the Università Statale of Milan in 1995, Massimiliano attended the Master in Legal Informatics and Law of New Technologies at CIRSFID (University of Bologna) and has been a lecturer at the University of Insubria for the Information and Computer Law course.
Massimiliano was admitted to the Bar in 1999. He is qualified to practice before the Supreme Court of Cassation and the High Courts since 2018 and, since 2014, has acquired the CIPP/E certification, Certified International Privacy Professional – EU.
Ranked by The Legal500 as a leading individual and by Who’s Who Legal as a thought leader in Data Protection, Massimiliano is frequently invited to speak at workshops and conferences, also abroad, and is the author of numerous articles and publications.
He is one of the founders of AIRIA – Artificial Intelligence Regulation Association and was a member of the European Advisory Board of IAPP.
