Gianluigi has been with Ughi e Nunziante since 2000 and became partner 2011. He has considerable experience in banking and finance, capital markets, debt restructuring, structured finance and financial markets regulation. He is also an expert in private equity transactions, M&A and the regulation of pharmaceuticals and phytosanitary products.
Gianluigi has assisted, in many important transactions, clients in the financial and industrial sector among which BBVA in the public takeover bid of BNL shares; the arrangers BNP Paribas and CA-CIB in several securitization transactions, among which the main securitizations of credits deriving from the lease of fleet vehicles; Italian and foreign investment funds in real estate transactions and private equity funds in companies operating in sectors like ICT, shipbuilding and major works, industrial purchasers in acquisitions in the logistics, components and pharmaceutical production sectors. Gianluigi has also provided legal assistance on regulatory matters in financing and financial products, including supply chain finance and reverse factoring products, to a number of operators about to enter the Italian and EU market or looking to expand.
After obtaining his degree in law cum laude in 1999 at the University of Perugia, he became Honorary Fellow in Private Law at the department led by Prof. Antonio Palazzo. Later, he lectured on structured finance, SPAs and non-regulated markets, at the Master in “Diritto di Impresa” at the LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome.
Gianluigi, who was admitted to the bar in 2002 and to practice before the Higher Courts in 2014, often acts as speaker at international seminars on matters pertaining to banking law and capital markets. He is member of the board of arbitrators of ASSONEBB – the National Association for the Banking and Stock Exchange Encyclopedia. He has published many articles on specialized journals and monographs on capital markets and banking regulation.
