Stefano graduated cum laude from the University of Rome, Italy, School of Law (J.D.) and, under a full scholarship program, from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (LL.M.). He was editor of the comparative law section of the Italian Arbitration Law Review.
Stefano is admitted to practice both in Italy and in the United States (California Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; U.S. District Court, Central District of California; U.S. Tax Court; U.S. Court of Claims). He worked for several years as an associate in a prominent U.S. law firm in Los Angeles and as a visiting foreign lawyer in Boston.
The primary focus of his practice is representing foreign clients doing business in Italy on a variety of legal issues and transactions (M&A, corporate, real estate, litigation) as well as Italian clients doing business abroad. Ranked by Chambers’ Legal Guide Europe, he “is appreciated by clients for his US background and knowledge of the US legal system.”
Mr. Guiso-Gallisay has been a panelist in seminars sponsored by the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association and by several private organizations both in Italy and abroad. He also authored several law review articles.
His clients include Fortune 500 multinationals as well as privately-held Italian entities. He is fluent in Italian and English.
